Rachel Horn serves as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment for the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).  She oversees Literacy, Math, Science, Humanities, and Assessment.  Ms. Horn joined DESE in July of 2019 after serving as a K-12 administrator, Educator Evaluator, and School Improvement Chair in a local district.  Ms. Horn is committed to using her experience to support diverse stakeholder groups, and she is passionate about meeting the needs of the whole child.  She works to equip and empower Arkansas educators as they support students in becoming actively literate, critical thinkers, and community engaged.  Ms. Horn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Central Arkansas, and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
